This GY-271 is ideal for use as an ultra-light digital compass module.


On this handy breakout board with convenient I2C interface, the reliable HMC5883L measures the magnetic flux density of magnetic fields in three axes.
Unlike a mechanical compass, this sensor works in any position or orientation.
Thanks to the 12-bit AD converter, the resolution is accurate to 1° to 2°. Since the sensor module is widely used, many free libraries as well as application examples for 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers are available.
